How a work light is born
We are enthusiastic to have our own in-house engineering department with facilities like mechanical, electrical and light labs, and state-of-the-art testing labs. The Engineering team also work with the latest in simulation software. This enables us to design and develop work and driving lights for the heavy-duty vehicle industry according to very high standards. Nordic Lights’ Engineering is part of Methode Electronics’ global Engineering team for lighting solutions, and collaborate on a regular basis with colleagues across countries and locations, bringing together different perspectives and expertise to turn customer needs into successful lighting solutions.
Lighting plays a critical role in the efficiency and safety of heavy machinery, and only a limited number of lighting manufacturers are able to meet the requirements of the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of heavy-duty vehicles. 30 years of experience
Nordic Lights has invested in research and product development to guarantee its position as a pioneer in the technological development of premium lighting solutions. Strong product development expertise is one of our strengths, and we have 30 years of experience of close cooperation with many of the world’s largest manufacturers of heavy-duty vehicles.
The goal of our team is to develop modular, manufacturing-friendly products that meet the customer’s needs. We work closely with our customers from design to production, aiming to develop lighting solutions that are optimized for the specific heavy-duty vehicle. We proactively offer new products and product features to our customers, and we typically have 15-20 ongoing R&D projects at the same time.

We are proud to have the best product developers and engineers on staff, breaking ground while creating new and improved world-class lighting solutions. Nordic Lights’ expertise covers all key areas, from project management, advice, design, testing and simulation to volume production and ensuring compliance.
The R&D facilities are located at our headquarters in Jakobstad, Finland. We also have an office in Salo, Finland, where some of our engineers work. You can also enjoy the flexibility of working from home or at the office. In our Engineering team you will find product owners, mechanical engineers, electronic engineers, optical engineers, test engineers and more. Every so often our team is also expanded with trainees and students doing their thesis work.
